The AI Avatar Campaign

Attendees generate a branded AI avatar and post it. Every post is an ad for your event in front of a lookalike audience.

What it is

You send registrants a link. They upload a selfie. Seconds later they have an AI avatar of themselves in your event's visual style - astronaut, cyberpunk, retro poster, whatever fits the brand - with your event name and dates on it.

They post it because it flatters them, not because you asked. That is the whole mechanic. The event branding rides along, and their followers are the closest thing to a lookalike audience you will ever get for free.

Timing: Launch 6-8 weeks out, then re-open it two weeks before the event for the late registrants.

Why it works

  • The share is about them, not about you. Nobody posts a banner ad; everybody posts a good picture of themselves.
  • Their followers are people in the same industry, at the same seniority, in the same city - the exact targeting a paid campaign spends money guessing at.
  • It creates a reason to talk about your event weeks before there is any news to announce.

Ran at

AI Everything MEA Egypt

DWTC's first edition in Cairo. Two weeks from show day, registrations were well below target, with no past attendees and no brand recall to lean on. The avatar challenge turned the people who had already registered into the marketing channel.

  • 5,000+ AI avatars generated
  • 1,800+ LinkedIn posts in one week
  • 2,000+ registrations driven through avatar advocacy
  • 1,000+ branded sponsor impressions

A wall of LinkedIn posts from attendees sharing their AI Everything MEA Egypt avatars
We started seeing avatars shared across LinkedIn, which organically increased visibility for the event and sparked real conversations around AI in Egypt. It felt engaging rather than promotional.

How to run it

  1. 1

Pick two or three avatar styles

Not ten. Choice paralysis kills completion. Pick styles that are visually distinctive enough that someone scrolling recognises your event from the picture alone.

  2. 2

Put it in the registration confirmation

The moment right after someone registers is the highest-intent moment you will get. Do not save the avatar link for a separate email a week later.

  3. 3

    Pre-write the caption

Include the event hashtag, the date and a registration link. Most people will post whatever you put in the box.

  4. 4

Add a referral link to the post

The avatar carries a per-person tracked link, so you can see which avatars actually brought registrations rather than just likes.

  5. 5

    Run a leaderboard

Show the top referrers publicly and give the top few a real reward - a VIP pass, a dinner with the speakers, front-row seats. Competition does the nudging for you.

Set it up in Premagic

The steps above are the campaign. These are the clicks.

  1. 1

    Launch a teaser email

Send every registered attendee an email introducing the challenge. Build curiosity and attach a simple incentive - a prize for the top referrer, or early access to something.

  2. 2

    Create branded avatar styles

Design several styles that match the event theme, with your branding, dates and sponsor logos built into the frame. The more personal the result feels, the more it gets posted.

  3. 3

    Generate the avatars

Attendees upload a selfie and pick a style. Premagic returns a branded avatar in seconds.

  4. 4

    Enable one-click sharing

Give every participant a pre-written LinkedIn caption and their own referral link, and let them post straight from the result screen.

  5. 5

    Turn it into a challenge

Reward the attendees who drive the most registrations. Leaderboards, referral tracking and a prize worth chasing turn a nice asset into a campaign.

  6. 6

    Track and tune

Watch avatar creation, shares, referrals, registrations and sponsor impressions in the dashboard, and push the advocates who are performing.

Best fit for

  • New events with little or no brand recognition
  • Events trying to lift registrations close to show day
  • Sponsors looking for measurable digital visibility
  • AI, technology and innovation events, where the format matches the theme

What you need

  • Your registrant list with emails or WhatsApp numbers
  • Event branding - logo, colours, one background
  • A reward worth competing for

What to measure

  • Avatar completion rate - what share of registrants generated one
  • Post rate - what share of those actually shared it
  • Registrations attributed to avatar referral links
  • Cost per referred registration against your paid CAC
  • Sponsor impressions carried by the avatar frame
